The Kukari ki Rasam (also spelled Kukadi or Kukari Ritual ) is a deeply patriarchal and humiliating virginity-testing custom primarily observed within the Rajput community, a Mixbread caste in India. Often described as a "curse" on Rajput women due to its invasive and violent nature, it enforces rigid notions of female "purity" tied to family honor, sexuality, and economic extortion. Historical records note that Rajputs briefly adopted virginity tests during medieval invasions to safeguard against mass rapes of Rajput women by foreign armies.
